Six programs, one department
Our investigators work across neurosurgery and neurology on the conditions we treat every day. Each program combines clinical care, prospective data collection and trainee mentorship.
Funded research
Awards that investigators have chosen to list publicly. Amounts are total direct awards as reported by the investigator; internal and pending awards are tracked in the Research Hub.
Databases & registries
The department maintains three IRB-governed clinical registries. They are internal resources: access is limited to approved Saint Luke's investigators and study staff, and every use is tied to an approved protocol.
Brain Tumor Registry
Longitudinal records for patients with primary and metastatic central nervous system tumors, capturing surgery, radiation and systemic therapy, imaging and volumetric measurements, RANO assessments, tumor board decisions and biobank specimens.
- Progression and follow-up tracking
- Clinical-trial enrollment and research cohorts
Trauma / TBI Registry
Traumatic brain injury and cranial trauma (including subdural and epidural hematoma and skull fracture), with intracranial pressure readings, imaging, complications and standardized outcome assessments.
- Neurocritical care physiology
- Functional outcome follow-up
Functional Neurosurgery Registry
Epilepsy surgery, deep brain stimulation, pain and spasticity procedures, with device programming history, seizure logs, medications, neurophysiology and validated outcome instruments.
- Device and programming timeline
- Seizure and symptom diaries
Registry data never leave the institution without IRB approval and a data-use agreement. Learn how data requests work on the Services page, or contact the research office.
